Did you know that when you are born your body is alkaline? And that when you die your body is all acid? Think about that for a minute. Alkalinity means life. Acid means death. Do you see what's happening? Your arteries are starting to close up. This leads to heart attacks. Acid blood and inflammation causes clogged arteries and heart disease, not cholesterol! Stress and negative emotions are certainly one of the factors in creating too much acid in your body and throwing your pH balance off. Scientists and doctors continue to learn and confirm how ALL negative emotions effect our health adversely. However, diet is also a large part of the problem. Fast foods, soft drinks, too much alcohol and cigarette smoking really are the main contributers to an acidic body. Even, lots of so called "health foods" can cause an acid condition in your body. All grains, except rice and millet are acidic. All cooked nuts and seeds and all cooked fruit are acid-forming. So, you could be eating an all natural diet and still be too acidic.
Health Issues Caused By Acidosis
The more acidic your body becomes, the more waste products you accumulate inside of your body that it has to get rid of. This puts a big strain on all of your organs. WHY? Because in order to try and keep your blood alkaline and remove the acid from your system, the body is forced to have to borrow minerals from your vital organs and your skeletal system to try and neutralize the acids present in your bloodstream. These minerals include calcium, potassium and magnesium. This is not a good thing. The longer this goes on, the worse your health gets. How to Alkalize Your Body:
If you want to reduce the amount of acid in your body and become more alkaline you need to do the following: • Eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables every day. This is one of the very best ways to alkaline your body.(They should make up 75-80% of your daily diet.) • Avoid processed sugar. It is very acid-forming. Man-made sweeteners like NutraSweet, Equal, Aspartame and high fructose corn syrup are also very acid-forming. Avoid them all. • Consume raw nuts and seeds. • STOP drinking soda pop. On the show "THE DOCTORS" soda was called liquid cigarettes. That's how bad drinking it is to your health. Besides the fact that sodas eat away at your tooth enamel, they are generally very high in sugar and are very acidic. Did you know that you would have to drink 7 glasses of alkaline water (that's water with a pH of 7 or higher) to counteract the damage that just ONE soda does to your body! If that doesn't tell you how dangerous drinking soda pop is, then, I don't know what else I can tell you. You will have an incredibly hard time keeping your body alkaline if you are a soda drinker. You will be setting yourself up for many illnesses and will grow old well before your time. As I mentioned, the more acidic your body, the faster you age. Also, cancer cells love acid! They thrive in it! Don't give them the chance, STOP DRINKING SODA POP!! You may find that you will also lose some unwanted weight as an added benefit.
Remember, drinking lots of sodas and/or coffee will NOT properly hydrate your body!! • Try to avoid stress when possible or at least learn how to process it better. (In other words, don't sweat the small stuff.) • avoid too much coffee and soft drinks.(none would be better.) • Don't smoke. • Reduce Alcohol Consumption. ( Alcohol dehydrates your body.) The more your body is dehydrated, the more acidic it becomes. • Reduce some of your intake of cooked and processed foods and replace them with more organic, fresh alkalizing foods. Remove all bleached flours and high fructose corn syrup from your diet. High fructose corn syrup is one of the worst things you can put in your body. There is nothing good about it. It is not only acidic, it is loaded with chemicals, it makes you gain weight and can lead to diabeties. It's found in many processed foods. IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH, AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! Two other foods you should avoid at all costs are potato chips and french fries. Not only are they very acidic, but, they are loaded with Acrylamide which is a dangerous poison. The research of four countries is indicating that both French fries and potato chips just may be a leading cause of cancer in Western society. Acrylamide is also a chemical used in the manufacture of plastics. It was first discovered to be present in certain foods cooked at high temperatures as the result of work presented in Sweden in the spring of 2002. • Do some form of regular exercise 3 to 4 times a week to reduce stress. Always make sure you consult your doctor before starting any type of exercise program. * SPECIAL TIP: A little known way to help reduce acid in your body and help alkaline it, is to drink water with fresh squeezed lemon in it.(Make sure it's FRESH lemon) The best time to do this is when you get up or before you retire or both. (Be sure to rinse your mouth out with a little bit of plain water. Don't leave the lemon juice on your tooth enamel) You could also have a glass of homemade lemonade but, only if you don't use regular table sugar because it is very acid-forming and extremely unhealthy for you. What you would do is replace the sugar with a natural product called xylitol. Xylitol is a natural substance derived from fibrous vegetables and fruit, as well as from corn cobs and various hardwood trees including birch. Although xylitol tastes and looks exactly like sugar, that is where the similarities end. Where sugar is very unhealthy and promotes disease, xylitol is actually alkalizing, has anti-aging benefits, stabilizes insulin levels and does NOT promote tooth decay. In fact xylitol is actually good for your teeth and has no after taste. It's a great addition to an alkaline diet. • Another great way to reduce acid is to eat fresh cucumber slices everyday. * Taking RAW, ORGANIC, UNFILTERED APPLE CIDER VINEGAR everyday is said to help balance the amount of acid we have in our bodies. Usually a tablespoon or two of ACV taken with a large glass of water 3 times a day is recommended by many health advocates who endorse taking apple cider vinegar daily for better health.
